The Ask
Building More Than Booths
Duck Creek Technologies approached 82 South with a bold request: bring to life two critical elements of their premier annual event—Formation. First, they needed an interactive, high-visibility space known as The Launchpad, where over 40 sponsors and internal product teams could showcase technology, spark conversation, and create brand moments within a packed conference schedule. Second, they wanted a themed evening party that would stand out—not just as a networking event, but as a core memory for attendees.
This wasn’t just another conference—it was the convergence point for the best and brightest in the insurance and insurtech space. The experience had to be cohesive, immersive, and unforgettable.

The Pitch
Designing for Impact
Duck Creek needed more than just vendor booths—they needed an environment that brought people together. The Launchpad served as the central hub of the event, hosting sponsor exhibits, product demos, and daily networking, including key happy hours. Every inch had to be functional, branded, and built for engagement.
We transformed the space with 33 digital LED signs, giving each sponsor a customizable platform for real-time messaging—eliminating print waste and elevating the overall experience. Custom demo stations showcased Duck Creek’s products in an approachable, interactive format, while the layout was designed for intuitive flow and meaningful connection.
To close the event with impact, we produced Duck to the Future—a vibrant, 80s-themed party complete with arcade games, airbrushed trucker hats, a live band, and a DeLorean. It was the perfect high-energy finale to a week centered on innovation, connection, and bold ideas.

The Results
From Vision to Victory
The response to Duck Creek Formation was everything we hoped for—and more. The Launchpad became a hub of energy and engagement, powered by clean design, clear navigation, and 33 digital signs that gave every sponsor a modern, dynamic presence. With the ability to update content instantly, exhibitors had more control, more visibility, and more interaction with attendees than ever before.
The Duck to the Future party delivered on every nostalgic note. Guests were greeted with an explosion of retro fun—complete with a live 80s band, vintage arcade games, and a DeLorean parked center stage. We layered in personalized experiences like a live caricature artist, airbrushed graffiti trucker hats, and throwback photo ops to keep guests moving, laughing, and connecting all night long.
By the end of the event, Duck Creek’s leadership had received glowing feedback from sponsors and internal teams alike. Formation didn’t just look good—it functioned flawlessly. For 82 South, it was a proud moment of creativity, logistics, and experience design all working in perfect sync.
